Privacy Policy
This policy explains what StatusDock ("we", "us") collects when you visit statusdock.app or join our waitlist, why, and what control you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Only if you submit it to the waitlist | To send you launch updates and an invite to StatusDock |
| Account email and sign-in times | If you create an account | To sign you in with an emailed code and run your account |
| Your panels: page content, checked URLs and check results | If you create a panel | To run your status page and checks. Status pages are public to anyone with the link. |
| Data sent through our API | If an account holder sends metrics with an API key | To store and show those numbers and statuses. We keep up to 90 days of daily summaries. Only shown publicly if the account holder adds them to a page. |
| Alert recipients' emails | If an account holder adds someone | To ask that person to confirm, then send them alerts. Nobody gets alerts without confirming, and every alert has a stop link. |
| Time you joined | With your email | To manage the list and apply the retention period below |
| Technical data (IP address, browser type, requested pages) | Automatically, when you load the site | To deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs. We do not store your IP address or browser details with your waitlist entry. |
We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and the only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in, if you have an account. The one exception to storing anything in your browser is our status page test page, which saves the edits you make there in your browser's local storage. Those edits are never sent to us. We don't use any third-party scripts or fonts. All fonts and code are served from statusdock.app. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16, and the waitlist isn't meant for them.
Why we're allowed to use it
If you're in the EU, UK or a similar region, we process your email because you asked us to by joining the waitlist (consent), and you can withdraw that at any time. We process basic technical data to run and secure the site (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data and we don't share it for advertising. We use two service providers: Railway (railway.com) hosts the website and the database that holds the waitlist, and Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) provides DNS and sends and receives our email. They process data on our behalf under their own data processing terms. Servers may be located in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside your country. We'll also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account data, panels and alert recipients stay until you delete them or your account, which you can do in Account settings. Daily check history is kept for 90 days. Sign-in codes are deleted when used or soon after they expire.
We keep a waitlist email until you ask us to remove it or for up to 24 months after you joined, whichever is sooner. After that it's automatically deleted. Server logs at our hosting provider are kept for a limited period under its own retention settings.
Your choices and rights
- Remove your email instantly: use the form on our data requests page.
- Unsubscribe: every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.
- Access, correct, export, restrict or object: email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days (45 for California residents).
- Complain: if you're in the EU or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Security
The database is access-restricted and connections to it are encrypted or run on a private network. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we'll notify you and regulators as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above. If we ever want to use your email for something other than launch updates, we'll ask you first.
